Consumer Unit Upgrades

Why do i need a fuseboard/consumer unit upgrade:-

A fuseboard or consumer unit is at the center of electrical installation providing both electrical supply around the property and most importantly additional electrical  protection to those circuits in case of a fault.

What additional protection do i provide on the consumer units:-

All the consumer units i install are populated with RCBOs to provide individual RCD protection to every circuit to mitigate nuisance tripping due to earth leakage from your home appliances/devices they also have surge protection installed both of which are required by the latest BS7671 regulations.

Process to having a consumer unit upgrade:-

We recommend and is our standard practice to carry out an EICR to identify any protential issues with the installation/circuits being supplied by the the consumer unit in question, this both confirms that the circuit meets the regulation requirements and minimise the chance that once the new unit is installed the client is going to be given remedial work that will need to be carried out that they were not expecting.
